West Junior B Hurling League: 

The Maria Marron Palmers Hill Stud West Junior B Hurling league continued on Tuesday evening last April 11th with three of the four games taking place.

In Group 1, defending champions Cappawhite made it two from two with defeating Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams, 2-16 to 0-9 at Cappawhite. The latter without a win after two games. 
In the same group, Sean Treacys made a winning start when they inflicted a first defeat of the campaign on Eire Og Annacarty Donohill in Kilcommon, 2-18 to 2-13.

In Group 2, Emly made a winning start as Golden/Kilfeacle suffered their first defeat, 3-10 to 2-8 at Golden.
The game between Clonoulty/Rossmore and Cashel King Cormacs was postponed. 

The competition continues on Tuesday April 18th with three games down for decision.
In Group 1, Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams host Arravale Rovers in Dundrum with both sides looking for their first victory.
In Kilcommon, there is a battle of the two unbeaten sides as Sean Treacys host Cappawhite.

In Group 2, Emly host Clonoulty/Rossmore in Emly with the latter playing their first game of this year’s competition. Emly will be looking for back-to-back victories.

All games throw in at 7pm

Limit of Substitutions per game; 

Maximum of up to 7 substitutions allowed in this competition, per team per match.   

No of players on a team; 

If a team has only 13 or 14 players at the game, the other team has to play at 13 or 14-a-side as well. 

Minimum number of players – 13.  

Any less than 13 & the team has to concede. 

If 15 players are available, both teams have to play at 15-a-side. 

If the clubs agree on 13 or 14-a-side, they both have to inform referee of same before throw in. 


County Leagues
Football
The County Adult Football League resumed last weekend.

In Group 1 of Division 1, on Friday, Rockwell Rovers were defeated by Ballyporeen in New Inn, 2-9 to 2-7 in their first game of the competition.
On Sunday, Arravale Rovers went down to their second successive defeating losing to JK Brackens in Sean Treacy Park, 7-17 to 1-9.  
In Group 2 of Division 1, on Friday, Golden/Kilfeacle also suffered a second successive defeat as they were defeated by Moyle Rovers in Golden, 3-6 to 0-7. 

In Group 1 of Division 2, the game between Aherlow and Moyle Rovers has been refixed for Sunday May 7th in Monroe at 12 noon.

In Group 2 of Division 2, on Friday Galtee Rovers made it two from two when they defeated St. Patrick’s in Bansha, 3-15 to 0-8.
On Saturday Cashel King Cormacs suffered a second defeat as they went down to Fethard, 1-12 to 2-5 in Fethard.

In Group 1 of Division 3, Emly started their weekend with a 1-5 to 0-6 victory over in Newcastle on Friday.
They followed that up with victory over Ballyporeen in Emly, on Sunday, 3-14 to 2-0. 

In Group 2 of the same Division, Galtee Rovers and Cappawhite finished all square in Bansha 2-9 apiece. Cappawhite move onto three points with Galtee Rovers getting their first point.
On Sunday, Rosegreen received a walkover from Fethard. 

Hurling
The County hurling league resumes this weekend with round 3 of the competition. 

In Group 2 of Division 1, on Sunday Clonoulty/Rossmore go in search of their first win when they face Mullinahone in Mullinahone at 12 noon. 

In Group 2 of Division 2, Eire Og Annacarty Donohill host Holycross Ballycahill in Annacarty. Eire Og will be looking to add to their point secured in round 1. Cashel King Cormacs host Roscrea at Leahy Park as they look for a first win at the second attempt. Both games throw in at 12 noon. 

In Group 1 of Division 3 there are two West teams in action on Sunday. Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams will be looking to build on their win in round 2 as they travel to Lorrha for a meeting with Lorrha Dorrha. 
Sean Treacys who also got their first win in round 2 travel to O’Sullivan Park to face Ballingarry.
Both games throw in at 12 noon.

In Group 1 of Division 4, on Sunday, Cappawhite go in search of their first win at the second attempt when they host Kiladangan in Cappawhite at 12 noon. 
In Group 2 of the same Division, Arravale Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways following their defeat in round 2 as they travel to Ballinderry for a meeting with Shannon Rovers at 12 noon.
Golden/Kilfeacle will be looking to make it three wins from three when they host Upperchurch Drombane in Golden at 12 noon on Sunday. 
The outstanding game between Clonoulty/Rossmore and Upperchurch Drombane refixed for Tuesday April 11th at 8pm in Clonoulty was postponed.
Also on Sunday in Group 2, Clonoulty/Rossmore host Ballybacon Grange in Clonoulty at 3pm. Clonoulty/Rossmore looking for their first win after a defeat in round 2 to Golden/Kilfeacle.

In Group 1 of Division 5, this Sunday Lattin/Cullen who got their first win of the league in round 2 will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the league when they travel to Ned Hall Park Clonmel for a meeting with Clonmel Og at 12 noon.
In Group 2 of the same Division, on Saturday, there is an all-West clash Cappawhite host Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams in Cappawhite at 6pm.  Both teams got their first wins in round 2. 
In Group 3 of the same Division, Galtee Rovers will be aiming to make it three from three as they travel to Dolla for a meeting with Silvermines on Sunday at 3pm. 

In Group 1 of Division 6, on Sunday, Solohead host Killea in Solohead at 12 noon, with Solohead looking for their first victory. 
While in Group 2 on Sunday at 3pm, Rosegreen travel to Castleiney for a meeting with Loughmore Castleiney. Rosegreen are currently on three points.  

Intercounty
The Tipperary Minor Hurlers will face Limerick at FBD Semple Stadium on Tuesday April 18th at 7pm. Limerick have two wins from two while Tipperary are looking for their first points of the campaign.

The Tipperary U20 Hurlers were defeated by Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Wednesday last April 5th in the O’Neills.com Munster U20 Hurling Championship, 1-28 to 1-19.
Eoin Horgan (Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams), Danny Slattery (Clonoulty/Rossmore), Robert Doyle (Clonoulty/Rossmore), Cathal Quinn (Cashel King Cormacs) and Jack Leamy  (0-8, 0-6 frees, 0-1 65)(Golden/Kilfeacle) started for Tipperary. Stephen Dee (Solohead) came on as a second half substitute. 

Tipperary face Limerick in their next game at FBD Semple Stadium on April 21st at 7.30pm.

The Tipperary Senior Footballers began their Munster Senior Football Championship campaign with a 3-9 to 1-11 victory over Waterford at FBD Semple Stadium on Sunday April 9th.  

Shane O’Connell (Golden/Kilfeacle) and Donagh Leahy (Arravale Rovers) started for Tipperary. Mark Russell (Aherlow) was introduced as a substitute.

Tipperary will face Kerry in the Munster semi-final on April 22nd at 4pm in Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney.

The Tipperary U20 Footballers were defeated by Clare in the Eirgrid Munster U20 Football Championship quarter final on Monday last April 10th at 7pm in FBD Semple Stadium, 1-11 to 0-11. 

Joseph Lawrence (0-1) (Rockwell Rovers), Micheal Lowry (Arravale Rovers) and Evan Hawkins (Arravale Rovers) started for Tipperary. Eoin Doocey (Arravale Rovers) was introduced as a second half substitute.

Dillon Quirke Foundation
A foundation has been set up in honour of the late Dillon Quirke who collapsed and died of SADS on the 5th of August 2022 in Semple Stadium Thurles. He was playing hurling for his club Clonoulty-Rossmore in the County championship. 

Sudden adult death syndrome (SADS) takes 100 young lives in Ireland every year. The aim of the foundation is to raise awareness and save lives by screening every GAA player both male and female from the age of 12 upwards.
