Positive action for Tipperary Town

TIRD/Chamber of Commerce representatives met recently with Alison Harvey Independent Consultant appointed by Minster Damien English to head up the regeneration and development of Tipperary Town.

The meeting was very productive with an emphasis on a collaborative approach being taken by all stakeholders in trying to rejuvenate our town.  This is the way forward and working together towards a common objective will produce measureable results in a relatively short time frame. Alison plans to meet all relevant groups’ intent on pitching in with their efforts to improve all aspects of living, working or visiting Tipperary.

Alison has been involved in rejuvenation projects in Tralee, Listowel, Dundalk, Monahan, Sligo, Letterkenny and Derry.  Alison is well qualified for this position and some of her specialties include: Urban Economics & Regeneration; Programme/Project Design, Set up & Management; Report Writing; Collaborative and Participatory Planning; Arts, Heritage and Tourism Strategies; Urban & Rural Design; Town Centre Management (TCM); Retail Capacity Studies; Collaborative Town Centre Health Checks (TCHCs); Landscape Planning and Management; and Teaching & Training.

This development allied to the recent funding announcement for funding for the Market Yard redevelopment project, augers well for Tipperary going forward.  T.I.R.D Chamber of Commerce have been campaigning for this project for over 3 years and all concerned are overjoyed with the result which demonstrates what can be achieved by like minded positive groups.
