Tipperary Town’s Men Shed, Pride of Place Award 2022

Tipperary town’s Men Shed won a special award at the Pride of Place Awards held at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin on Saturday.

The group won in the Community Well Being Category – the award was presented to Timmy White and Eddie McGrath.

The group has 15 active members and contributes to many activities in Tipperary Town. The Tipperary Town Men’s Shed was the first ever to be established in Ireland in 2009. Following the formation of this first shed in Ireland, the shed movement began to grow rapidly. There are now over 400 sheds registered with the Irish Men’s Sheds Association and at least 12,000 men visiting a shed every week.

The Tipperary Town Mens Shed are based in the Knockanrawley Resource Centre.
