Tipperary Tidy Towns group has won the Young Persons of the Year Award in this years Annual Tidy Towns competition. The Category states “This award is in recognition of the people and businesses who have collaborated as a community to work to improve their environment, foster civic pride and make their town a better place.”
Well done to Emly Tidy Towns who have won Gold for South Tipperary.
The Tipperary delegation collecting the award is Siobhan Landers, Residents Association Network, Dinny Ryan Tipperary Men’s Shed/Tidy Towns Committee Member and William Kinnane Tipperary town Enhancement Group/Chamber of Commerce.
Unfortunately due to prior engagements Tipperary town Tidy Towns Chairperson Paul O’Callaghan and Committee member and stalwart of the group Cristina Garani were unable to attend.

Tipperary Tidy Towns have won the Tidy Towns Young Persons of the Year Award. Huge congratulations to our committee for leading multiple initiatives with the schools in town. Thank you to our Chairman Paul O’Callaghn for his perseverance and commitment to this cause.
Paul and the committee have worked with all the schools in town on biodiversity projects, tree planting, design projects related to anti litter signing, litter picking. Tipperary Tidy Towns has also opened its committee to representatives of the secondary schools students.
We have many more ongoing projects and further ideas to develop with the youth as we believe they are the future of our community.
