Join us as we open a new creative space for exhibitions, crafts, music, workshops, open mic nights and lots more! Let your creativity blossom with Tipperary Arts.
We are Tipperary Arts (TARTS), a new, non-profit arts collective based at 50 Main Street in the heart of Tipperary Town.
We bring together local artists, makers, musicians, and creative thinkers to collaborate, share resources, and help creativity thrive in our community. During our launch, we have a packed schedule of events and activities for the community to experience what Tipperary Arts has to offer, all free to attend on July the 18th and 19th.
Our aim is to provide a wide range of events, including art classes, workshops, open mic nights, a craft shop and monthly market among so much more as we strive to give the community new ways to engage with creativity and share the rich talent that exists across our county. We believe that a vibrant arts scene benefits everyone. It draws people into our town, supports local enterprise, and adds colour, energy and life to our streets.
We hope you will join us, take part, and help shape this new creative space for Tipperary town.
Events:
Join us as we Launch the Tipperary Arts Hub at 50 Main Street with a selection of workshops, our launch celebration and an open mic session.
All our events are open to all ages and abilities. There is no right or wrong way to let your imagination speak.
Make Your Mark – 12pm to 4pm Make a splash with paint, pencils or markers as you create whatever your imagination brings to life. This will begin a larger scale collaborative piece of art where everyone is invited to make their mark as part of a permanent and ever evolving art installation at the Tipperary Arts hub.
The Golden Tart – From 12pm
Each of our 6 founding members has hidden a golden Tart sculpture somewhere around Tipperary town. Find one and bring it back to the hub to claim a free one hour 1 to 1 session with that founding member.
Mirror Me – 2pm to 3pm
Join Alex Roche for an introduction to the art of creating a perfectly symmetrical drawing. Start by creating simple marks on one side of a piece of paper, then see how it transforms into ornate patterns, symbols and unexpected designs when mirrored. What will you see?
Claytime – 3pm to 4pm
Brendan Fahey teaches you the first stages of creating a sculpture. Learn how to build a scaffold that acts as a base for sculpting with clay, and discover how it can be used to create whatever resides in your own imagination.
Find Your Voice – 4pm to 5pm
Rob Carney shows you how to uncover your vocal abilities by overcoming the inherent discomfort at hearing our own voices. This is a beginner friendly session for anyone who wants to feel more confident speaking, sharing or performing.
Your Feedback – 5pm to 6pm
Join Marion for a feedback session and let us know what you enjoyed, what could be improved, and what workshops or events you would like to see in the future. We aim to provide events that are relevant and wanted by our community and through your feedback we can create a bespoke service specifically for you.
Launch Celebration – 7.30pm to late
Celebrate the launch of Tipperary Arts with music, merriment and mischief as we open our doors. Meet the members behind the collective known as The Tarts. Hear about our plans for the year ahead, discover what’s coming next, and find out how you can get involved by becoming a member, sponsoring an event or project and how you can support the arts scene in Tipperary Town.
Open Mic Sunday the 19th July 2pm to 5pm
Join us to share a song, poem, story, comedy routine or performance at our open mic session. If performing is not your thing, come along to enjoy the rich talent our community has to offer. If you are a performer we offer you a stage to share your talents. This is a welcoming space for new voices, fresh ideas and creative expression and we look forward to getting to know more of our creative community.
