Sheila Ryan, Toomevara, native chosen as the 2017 Tipperary Rose of Tralee, in front of a packed crowd at the Anner hotel Thurles Friday night- Next Stop the dome in Tralee
In a full room the Anner hotel last Friday night as a crowd of over 200 witnessed Sheila Ryan, – 23- Psychiatric/ Mental Health Nurse chosen as the 2017 Tipperary Rose of Tralee. “Sheila the daughter of John and Margaret Ryan from Toomevara north Tipperary, Sheila who studied BCs in Psychiatric Nursing at Waterford Institute of Technology is now working in the South Tipperary Mental Health Services, Clonmel. Her Hobbies include reading, horse racing, travelling, fashion and has a particular interest in camogie previously winning a Minor A All Ireland camogie final with Tipperary in 2011 and who has also Played Senior Camogie for Tipperary” Sheila was selected from 23 elegant ladies from all over county Tipperary and now will travel “via the Rose tour” to the international festival in Tralee in August and will take part in all the parades, Rose Ball, public engagements and a private qualifying event at the festival from which 32 Roses will be chosen to appear in the live selection broadcasts. The night was a great success, hosted by Ollie Turner , who had the crowd well entertained for the night along with a performance from the call of 2016 escorts and rose to shown case a charity single they have released , also the title of the best banner in the banner competition went to Fiona Casey friends. The Event coordinator Mr. Ciarán O’Connell said: “we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Sheila, she was very popular with all the with all the roses and emanates the qualities of what a rose should be and we want to wish her the very best of luck, she will have a great year ahead.
