A proposed draft has been put in place from Tipperary County Council for new Parking Bye-Laws for 2026. The aim of the new proposals is to have unified pricing throughout County Tipperary, making on-street and off-street parking the same in different towns. All the plans can be viewed on Tipperary County Councils website or in person at the Tipperary Town County Council office building on Rosanna Road.
On-street parking prices will be changing under the new proposals. In Tipperary Town there will be an increase in the amount of streets that are free to park on. There will be an increase in the cost of on-street parking in the town centre.
Parking prices will be FREE for the first 20 minutes
20-50mins will be €0.60
50 mins to 1 hour 30 mins will be €0.80
1 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours will be €1.80

Tipperary Town is classed as a tier 3 town, as the population is under 8,000.
In Tipperary Town under the new proposals, there will be two pay car parks, The Market Yard car park, and the Abbey Street car park.
Parking up to 1hr will be €0.60
1-2 hour will be €1.40
2-3 hours will be €2.30
3 hours to all day will be €3.10

Tipperary residents have until 4:30pm on March 13 to submit opinions on the new Parking Bye-Law proposals. Submissions in relation to the draft Bye-Laws can be made in writing to Liam Brett, Director of Services, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co.
