Description:

These modern self catering holiday cottages are situated in the heart of the luscious Glen of Aherlow Nature Park (one of Ireland's best kept secrets!) surrounded by the impressive Galtee Mountains. This really is a hiking / cycling enthusiast's paradise, nestling between Irelandメs highest inland mountain range and the thickly forested Slievenamuck Ridge. There are a variety of marked walk ways and cycle trails of varying difficulty, with stunning, panoramic views. There are a number of prehistoric and early Christian sites throughout the glen and guided walks can be booked locally. An alternative way to explore the mountains is on horseback, the Hillcrest Riding Centre in nearby Galbally gives riding lessons and treks for riders of all levels of ability.

The tributaries of the River Suir flow through The Glen of Aherlow and offer excellent trout and perch fishing. Should you tire of exploring the surrounding countryside, you can relax in a game of golf at one of the local golf courses such as Tipperary Golf Club or Cahir Park Golf Club, . Alternatively enjoy a day at the races at the nearby Tipperary Racecourse.

The Glen is bounded by the rural villages of Bansha and Galbally, both of which have some lovely traditional pubs which give a real taste of friendly, rural Ireland. The areaメs main town it Tipperary, which has plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs which often have traditional music sessions.

The Rock of Cashel is less than 20 miles drive from Aherlow. Located on an imposing site, overlooking the Tipperary countryside, the Rock has historic buildings dating back to 1100, including a well preserved round tower. This former seat of the Kings of Munster is still popular with royalty - the Queen of England visited it on her first official visit to Ireland.
