Green light for Tipperary Town’s River Ara amenity walk

A 1Km public amenity walk along the River Ara in Tipperary Town has been given the green light after Tipperary County Council secured the planning from An Bord Pleanála.

The walk, which will showcase the river and its natural flora and fauna, will transform areas of Collegeland and Knockenrawley in the town.

Work on the walkway will commence in summer 2021 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The walkway is described as an “ecological re-animation” of the areas and will include a gravelled walkway and a new pedestrian bridge.
